Okay, this will be the final detailed post on Wendy’s condition. The next update on Wendy won’t be until after she’s passed on. That said it’s been a very crazy week and as Wendy would do I am going to issue a TMI warning and say do not read any further if you don’t want the details. I only post this because I know this is what Wendy would post.\u00a0Okay, you’ve been warned<\/em>…<\/p>\n

Tuesday the 7th our younger son Joe was up for an early birthday celebration. Josh and Megan brought him up and on that day Wendy was not in bad shape. She actually seemed to have more energy than expected. This was the night before Becky arrived. Josh and Megan took Joe back to Tahoe before returning home only to drive back up the next day (Wednesday) to pick Becky up from the airport. Again Wendy was doing better than previous days and was very happy to see her sister.<\/p>\n

The next morning is where things took a down turn. Wendy didn’t want to get up Thursday\u00a0morning. She had been waking up with severe headaches on previous days, but today she said her whole body hurt. She was in a lot of pain and we were having trouble keeping her comfortable. It took Becky and I to get her to the bathroom and by 11 AM she was for all intents and purposes, unresponsive. We could occasionally get an answer about if she was in pain but for the most part there was no response to questions or talk.<\/p>\n

All through the day she became less responsive and eventually spit up some. Later in the evening still unresponsive she lost bladder control and we had to call the Hospice nurses to come an install a catheter. During this she spit up some more and was still in a lot of pain. That brings us to today (Friday). Today Hospice sent a hospital bed over, but before it arrived Wendy lost more of her stomach contents a few times and it was painfully obvious her stomach had stopped working properly.<\/p>\n

Because Wendy was in a reclining bed\/chair back in a small bedroom and was unresponsive the local fire department was called in to help move Wendy to the bed. This took several guys with a special carrying tarp to move her down the narrow hall to the bed. All the motion of the move and getting on to the bed, then being rolled from side to side caused her to spit up again. Poor thing is finally in a more comfortable situation now and all we can do it keep her comfortable and peaceful.<\/p>\n

Remember, this is the last “detail” post. More to come, but not on her condition. We’re still accepting prayers, well wishes, etc. All we want is for her to be at peace and comfortable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
