But this year I was determined to do something, even if I was doing it alone. I decided to give out candy to the neighborhood children (we have more this year) and to dress up for the Halloween party at Parallax. Still, Wendy had all the holiday decorations organized in totes and the fall and Halloween stuff was in the same tote, organized to make it easy to transition. Decorating was always her thing. So when I opened the tote and saw what was inside I just froze. I had no clue where to start and ended up just closing the tote and putting back into the closet.<\/p>\n
I did manage to find the Halloween costume that Wendy made me back in 2006, however I could not find the ascot (tie) for it, which essentially defines it as Fred Flintstone. So instead I became a simple caveman. I won 3rd place in the Parallax costume contest.<\/p>\n

Eventually I went to Walgreens for some supplies and saw they were selling Halloween decorations and I found some Flickering LED candles and decided to purchase those to at least let locals know I was celebrating the holiday. I picked up two sets (for a total of four candles) and places them in the front windows.<\/p>\n

I then proceeded to get my Halloween Pumpkin Project<\/a> ready to sit on the front porch and trigger when kids walked up to the front door.<\/p>\n Halloween Pumpkin Project<\/p><\/div>\n I am still trying to figure out how to get the video from my security cameras to work in my editing software, but once I do I will post a video of the visitors I had. They were surprised by the pumpkin which began laughing at them as they approached the front door. It continued to laugh while they were at the door causing many of them to yell at the pumpkin, call it names or simply be pre-occupied with it. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n Here are the Halloween costumes Wendy hand-crafted for each of us back in 2006 when we were still living in an apartment in Rocklin, CA.
