Hey everyone! Time for another update.
I had my doctor appointment on Friday, April 10th to go over the results of my CT Scan. It went pretty much as I expected. As good as the results are, my doctor confirmed that it is in no way leading to a cure, just a little more time. And I am okay with that. The discussion mainly centered on how the chemo treatments are affecting my quality of life and what exactly I am willing to put myself through for the extra time. I have some thinking to do.
My most recent chemo treatment was my monthly double whammy of Carboplatin and Irinotecan. Needless to say I was not looking forward to it. But I did get a nice surprise during the treatment. Chris had some errands to take care of that day and at one point he stuck his head in the room and said “I have a surprise for you.” Then in the door he comes and right behind him was our oldest son with a big grin. I was so surprised that I ended up in tears, hence the red face and eyes in the picture (Curse these emotional roller coasters!).
So after this bout of chemo I got the usual nausea and constipation. I didn’t however lose a bunch of weight, this time it seems to be holding steady. I feel like I’ve been really run down this week. I’m not sure if I picked up another bug or what. I’ve been coughing more this week and having trouble with shortness of breath and that tight feeling again. I haven’t really felt up to trying to do much of anything. But rest is good. Sleep is my friend!
Not much more to report for now. Thanks for following along.
