And Now A Show Of Appreciation!

As I mentioned in my previous post, Wendy made it through her surgery. I wanted to thank everyone for their support in sending well wishes, thoughts and prayers during these trying times. But I also wanted to take a moment to offer some special thanks to some special people…a few of whom did not want to be mentioned (you know who you are):

Let’s start with those that have commented here. Since Wendy sees these things, it really shows her support and caring that she needs. This also applies to those who have texted her, posted on Facebook, sent her e-mail, etc. Again, you know who you are.

Extra special thanks goes to those whose names appear in the Thank You bar to the left. We survive (yes, survive) on my single income in a state where the cost of living is just astronomical. We’ve been “getting by” from month-to-month on my single income, however we haven’t the buffer for large financial set-backs like this and even with insurance there are a ton of out-of-pocket expenses. Due to her health issues Wendy probably won’t be able to work again in the foreseeable future. Those who have donated have removed a lot of stress, especially from Wendy who handles the finances and has to try and figure out how to pay everything each month and make ends met. And it’s not just the money you see…you have showed that you care and that means just as much as the financial help. So again, thank you!

I also want to send a special thanks to Jessica U., Ken G. , Chantal W. and anybody else I may have missed in all the excitement, who were not family, yet took the time to text, call, e-mail, etc. during surgery yesterday to wish us luck and see how Wendy was doing. That really meant a lot.

And then something that totally blew my mind…you expect your family to be there for you, however we’re thousands of miles away from family, so it was a shock when a co-worker and colleague Matt G. was sitting there waiting at the hospital when we arrived yesterday, ready to lend moral support and get food. Matt, you went way above what we could have expected! I am proud to call you my friend, sir.
