My goodness I am late putting this post up.
Ok, so a little over a week ago I had chemo #4 and this was my last “Red Devil” treatment! WOOHOO!! I have to say that I am glad that part is over. Not sure how many more of those I could have handled.
This time was a little different than the past treatments in that I finally had to break down and take the anti-nausea meds the doctor prescribed. I’m used to being a little sick to my stomach all the time from treatment. And I have been pretty pleased that I have been able to avoid taking more medication, but this was a different monster. I was happy to shove the pills in my face!
So, first round of chemo is complete and it’s on to the second round. Next up is Taxol every week for the next 12 weeks. This medication, so I am told, will most likely make me less nauseous but more tired. (I think I can live with being tired.) Taxol is also known to make your eyelashes and eyebrows fall out as well as do a number on your fingernails and potentially cause neuropathy in the hands and feet, I now get to see my oncologist every three weeks so she can keep an eye on me because of it.
HAIR!! What hair?? I am bald now…. SELFIE!!
Gunna look real purrtty when them eyebrows do a disappearing act! LOL
On the bald note, I have a video to share. I LOVE these ladies and these days this is my theme song.
**I was just reminded by my loving husband that I already posted this video previously. ACK!! CHEMO BRAIN!! Oh well, enjoy it again!**
Also, would like to give a special shout out to a few people…
First is my sister Becky. Becky owns and operates Hairstyles by Becky. If you click on the link it will take you to her Facebook business page. For the month of October she is donating all proceeds from pink sales to breast cancer research. Click here for a link to the event. Thank you sis and love you!
Next is my brother-in-law Michael. Mike is a quiet guy with a heart of gold. And recently he really surprised me and brought tears to my eyes with an email out of the blue to let me know that he has been thinking about me. AND he included a picture showing his support of breast cancer awareness.
My bro is ROCKIN’ THE PINK!! Mike you are awesome and I love ya!!
Next up, Saundra and Sue. I don’t know what I would do without you two wonderful ladies! I can’t express how much you both mean to me. I love you both and am deeply grateful to call you both my friends.
And last, but by certainly no means least….
My husband Chris. Thanks for continuing to stand by me during all of this. You are the one person who gets to see me during the good times but more importantly you have to watch me go through the really rough spots too. Thanks for always being there with a shoulder to cry on when I need it, a song and dance to cheer me up, and everything in between. A girl couldn’t ask for a better husband.
Okay, okay, one more thank you to everyone who comes here to read this stuff, to everyone who continues to pray for me, to everyone who sends me cards/emails/texts etc. GROUP HUG!
