One Step Forward, Two Steps Back
Some days that is what it feels like anyway…One step forward and two steps back. But any progress is in the right direction. Continue reading

Baby Steps
I keep having to remind myself that baby steps are still progress. Two and a half weeks post surgery now with a couple of doctor’s appointments behind me and I’m getting anxious to get back to “normal” if there is such a thing. Continue reading

One Week
Well, I am one week post-surgery! Ever since I got home I have spent a great deal of my time living in my recliner, each day consisting of recurring pain medication, elevation of my legs, awkward bathroom visits (painful?) and caring for my drains. We won’t get into how difficult eating has been for the last week! Suffice it to say I have lost 30 pounds in one week! Continue reading

Finally Home!
This post is actually a little late…okay, three days late. Wendy came home on Wednesday the 26th, but we’ve had no time to post anything and she isn’t quite up to sitting in front of a computer. We’ve decided she will post later and has some photos to share. Continue reading

Not Coming Home Today
Maybe tomorrow…they decided they want to have her stay an extra day for observation. Better safe than sorry, especially since we’re an hour away from this hospital. Continue reading

And Now A Show Of Appreciation!
As I mentioned in my previous post, Wendy made it through her surgery. I wanted to thank everyone for their support in sending well wishes, thoughts and prayers during these trying times. But I also wanted to take a moment to offer some special thanks to some special people…a few of whom did not want to be mentioned (you know who you are): Continue reading

She’s Back!
Sorry, I didn’t have a chance to follow-up yesterday. It’s very easy to navigate this site from my cell phone, but not so easy to write a CMS article (or post anything for that matter). Wendy came out of surgery in good shape, all things considered. She was a little groggy and in pain, however she is still putting up the good fight and staying in positive mode. I stayed for quite a while last night to rub her sore legs, help her eat (mostly liquids) and coordinate letting everyone know how she was doing. Continue reading
